We first met in a park in Auckland in February 2013. The first month our member met with a single mum who was at the end of her rope financially and emotionally. Struggling to juggle 3 jobs, 3 children and mounting bills, this mum used the money to buy groceries for her children that month.
This month, I had the privilege of taking the envelope and was able to bless two women — both on government benefits — to give them money to buy petrol for their cars (Petrol is VERY expensive in NZ – about the equivalent of US$8.32/gallon). The younger one said her income cheque was not deposited that morning as it should have been and she had prayed earlier in the day, “Lord, I’m going to have to trust you for the funds to buy petrol for the car.” Four hours later I was led to give her $60! What a blessing .. for both of us!
