I knew this was whom the Holy Spirit wanted me to give the money to, because he made a way for me to talk to her away from the crowd we were in at the time.
I gave the money away at the Texas Back Medical Center. There was a lady who was sitting across from me in the waiting room. I couldn’t help but notice her bare back looking like a pretzel. She was bent over filling out paper work on her walker. She weighed, maybe 100 pounds at best. She noticed me and asked ME how I was feeling. I told her I was filling guilty for not feeling bad today. (Most of the people you see in the waiting room are in a lot of pain.) She told me that she was there to see a doc about her 18th surgery. Even though she was in so much pain, she had a sweet smile. She told me that all she wanted was for this doctor to fix her back so she could be a true mom to her 7 and 10 year old boys. She told me that she loves to cook with them and watch their sporting events. I notice she was not wearing a wedding ring…not that that matters… I watched her get up and walk with her walker to the front desk. I thought to myself, “Thank you God for healing my back and not allowing me to have to live with such pain!”
There were many people sitting around us in the waiting room…however, God clearly told me that he would like me to give the blessing to her. However, I thought it would be awkward…I looked around to see if she was still at the desk, but she was gone. I remember her telling me that she needed her meds from the car. My appointmetn was running 15 minutes late and I knew if I would go down the stairs, I would miss my appointment. Soooooo, I stood in the middle of the lobby. where I could see her get off the elevator and also see the nurse if she called my name. I remember asking God that if this is what you want me to do then please let me give her the money BEFORE they call my name. THAT IS JUST WHAT HAPPENED! She got off the elevator and I approached her and told her my name and about our club. I told her that God chose her today to receive this blessing. She started crying and said this was an answer to her prayer. I told her that God wanted her to know that he knows she is suffering and that he promises to heal her one day!
As I drove home…I could not get the imagine of her struggling to walk up to the front desk out of my head…It was such a small picture of the suffering Jesus did for me and you…it also reminded me that God sees all of us who are suffering and feels our pain, too!
Well, that’s not the end of the story..two of the girls in our club had not paid me yet, so when they did, I had $20 to give away. I gave two $10 Starbucks gift cards to the cross walk ladies on a very crazy 4 way stop road. Each day they are there in the rain, sleet, hail, snow or sunshine. They loved the blessing!
This was so much fun! I love working for Jesus!
