Dear Ten for Him Friends,
On April 22 I learned from my father that the wife of a distant cousin of mine was recently diagnosed with an uncommon cancer called Choriocarcinoma, a quick growing cancer that occurs in the uterus. She had symptoms when she was pregnant but she declined treatment in order to save the baby (having had a few miscarriages in the past). By the time the baby was born, the cancer had spread to her brain, lung and spleen. They live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin but were sent to a hospital in Madison (an hour and a half away) for three weeks of radiation and chemo, which she finished on the May 10th. I just learned that she was able to go home this weekend (what a great Mother’s Day gift), and will have a home health nurse visit daily. She will have to go back to the hospital on the 20th for another round of chemo. Even though they have health insurance, there are many other expenses. The $100 will provide some assistance for the numerous trips they are making to the hospital and special medications, etc. Thank you for the opportunity to help this young family and please keep them in your prayers.
Amy
